Services
Private Lessons
One-on-one lessons dealing with the practical application
of specific instruments or Music Theory/Composition
& Music History. Professional and dedicated teachers
will offer the student instruction on correct techniques,
backgrounds, musical appreciation and all aspects of
a well-rounded musical education in lessons of 30, 45
or 60 minutes.
Group Lessons
Similar to Private lessons, but held in a group setting,
which encourages co-operative learning and/or ensemble
performance. Possible applications include small singing
groups or duets, musical theatre, string quartets, performer-and-accompanist
workshops, Music Theory & Composition, etc.
Curriculum Development and Implementation
The sad reality is that in this day and age, some schools
are unable to provide their students with the vital
service of a musical education. Working in conjunction
with the school and strictly following school board
guidelines, we can both plan a curriculum for students
from grades 1 to 12 and supply teachers, if required.
Choral Clinics/Programs
One of the greatest assets that Dulcet Melodies possesses
is our long-standing and deep connection to the Southern
Alberta choral community. Utilizing these ties, we can
and do offer choral clinics to community and school
groups, as well as plan and execute entire choral programs
specific to the need of your school or community group.
Be it a Chamber choir, traditional Concert chorus, or
the more modern and exciting Show choir, which incorporates
dance and movement into an overall choral presentation,
Dulcet Melodies is happy to help preserve the love of
song in the hearts and minds of today’s chorister,
both young and old.
Talent Representation
Once a student reaches the point in their education
where they can make a living for themselves as a performer,
many schools simply declare them “graduated”
and leave them to their own devices. Sadly, many of
these graduated students are ill-prepared to deal with
the sometimes harsh realities of life as a working professional
musician. We will work with clients to ensure that they
get bookings that not only will accentuate their strengths,
but that they will be properly and fairly compensated
for their hard work and talent. Further, our goal with
all clients in the Representation area of our business
is to foster independence and good self-managerial skills,
so that clients will eventually be able to fully and
ably represent themselves.
Musical Arrangement
Often, choral directors find themselves faced with
the dilemma of having a piece that they would love to
perform with their choir, but the piece has too many
or not enough voice parts, it hasn’t been arranged
for choir, they want it to be longer, or any other number
or problems that have a very simple but time-consuming
solution: Get it professionally arranged. At Dulcet
Melodies, we take the hassle out of musical arrangement
– tell us what you want, and we’ll do it
for you. Upon completion, the piece will be presented
to you for your approval. We’re not finished fixing
it until you TELL us we are.
